directions to Glentruim, North Berwick
Coming from the West, e.g. Edinburgh: -
  • At the end of the Edinburgh City Bypass South (A720) where it joins the A1 follow signs for Berwick-on-Tweed (A1 South). Alternatively take the A1 out of the City Centre
  • Follow the A1 and take the exit for the A198 to North Berwick (also signposted for the Scottish Seabird Centre)
  • At the roundabout, take the second exit for the A198, signposted North Berwick
  • Follow this road to the next roundabout and take the last exit, for the A198, signposted North Berwick
  • Follow the A198 through Longniddry to a large roundabout. Take the first exit signposted Scenic Route (alternatively, the second exit takes you on the inland route and rejoins the A198 a couple of miles short of N. Berwick), until you come to the coast at a T-junction, at which you turn right
  • Follow the A198 through Aberlady and Gullane until you reach the traffic lights in North Berwick
  • Turn right onto S. Hamilton Road. Glentruim is first on your left

Coming from the East (i.e traveling North on the A1): -

  • After bypassing Dunbar take the exit for the A198, North Berwick
  • Follow the A198 past Tynningham, WhiteKirk, Tantallon Castle and a caravan site
  • Take the second exit for N.B. town centre once you reach a small roundabout
  • Take the third left onto St. Baldred's Road, signposted Edinburgh (still the A198)
  • Pass the railway station and turn left onto Dirleton Avenue
  • Glentruim is last on the left before the the traffic lights - take a left onto S. Hamilton Road to reach the driveway
